What an incredible honor to have been featured in this Season Edition of Entertain and Celebrate – Holiday 2020 publication. It is always so surreal to see your home in the pages of a magazine. Seeing things in print is something you just can’t explain. You feel proud and honored, and excited like you could burst … but also shy and even a tiny bit insecure all wrapped into a split second of overwhelming bliss. It’s absolutely phenomenal how Entertain and Celebrate took images, I’ve photographed throughout the years, and then created such a breathtaking layout for their Christmas issue!
The last 4 years of my life have been . . . well, a crazy adventure to say the least:) I have tried very hard and strived to be grateful for the things I did have, even during many moves. Some of these moves were by choice, others necessity, and last one for health-related issues, which we all know can take an emotional toll, but it’s often miraculous how blessed a family can be when under tender circumstances.
The last 3 Christmases, I’ve had to work with limited resources as most of my Christmas decor has been, and still is, boxed away in storage. The crazy part of it all, is even though life and my situation hasn’t been ideal, and I didn’t have everything I’ve needed at my finger tips, my strong belief in wanting to create magic with a little extra help from the Lord, I seemed to make a beautiful Christmas for my family.

When these pages of my Christmas article were first sent to me for approval, I teared up. I looked over each page and realized that these images were taken during a time when life wasn’t perfect, in fact, there were Christmas’s when life seemed very heavy and discouraging.
But even though my constant effort of always looking for the good and always looking for beauty in life was not unnoticed. I give all credit to the Lord, the Lord was carrying me and guiding me during these years and He also knew how much Christmas meant to me.
I have always loved Christmas, BUT I have to say my husband has rubbed off on me these past 20 years of marriage. He’s “that” person who starts playing Christmas music in September:) I find it endearing that he loves the Holiday magic so much, and I’m sure it helps that he is also a December Baby:)
My motto as a wife and mother has always been that magic doesn’t just happen – it’s created. I want the holidays to become fond memories of beautiful Christmas trees, twinkle lights everywhere, and also really yummy food baking in the oven. I’ve learned that if you have Good Food, a warm and loving home, and purpose and meaning for life, people will naturally want to gather together, which is my dream.
I am looking forward to 2021 and the completion of a new home and another chapter in my life I have been waiting a very long time for.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
