I feel like I can now say, “I’m officially a pro” at moving and rental makeovers 🙂
The past few months, actually the past few YEARS have been a whirlwind! Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would move back to the same little town where I grew up as a child.
I have the BEST memories of this town and can see my own children experiencing some of the same things I did when I was between the age of 2-9 years old. Those childhood years seem to be the most magical and I love that I get to relive them through my own kids!
To say the very least, we LOVE our new move! We love our cute rental home; it has so much colonial southern charm. We are also excited to move forward with building. We bought a lot and have started the design process. For one reason or another it feels different this time around. More calm and more content.
I also wanted to give you an update on our son. We have a CT Scan next week to find out how his treatments are taking, and if all the traveling back and forth to Primary Children’s Hospital and blood draws and injections are shrinking these tumors. We are still on a VERY long road, but we are hopeful and happy and feeling blessed.
We can’t leave on a down note so here’s a fun project we just finished. This Master bedroom needed a little bit of TLC and Wallpops removable wallpaper was the perfect solution! It added the interest I wanted, at the same time added a soft and subtle tone that highlights the entire room. I decided a long time ago not to buy a headboard until our final house, and honestly, I don’t think one would have even fit in this room anyway. It’s only a 10.5×11 room. BOY… did I have a challenge with this space 🙂 I HAD to figure out a way to fit a king-sized bed. There was no extra room for anything, and that included night stands. So I used the handy trick of wall mounting sconces and used Command velour strips and LED battery lights to illuminate the faux sconces. It works great and I love the extra light needed for late night TV watching or reading!
Most of the bedding came from Amazon or TJ Maxx; everything you might want to know is linked below.
I Love how this room turned out. It feels like a retreat from all our worries. I wish so badly you could all see it in person. Pictures never do it justice.
