Visiting New York City
was honestly one of the biggest adventures I have had in a very long time.
Without a doubt, we used every bit of public transportation known to man! Well, maybe not every mode of transportation . . . I still kick myself for not catching a ride with the guy pulling the bicycle buggy;

honestly, I think I would have felt bad the entire time for him having to haul an extra *** pounds around the city!
Maybe next time?
Maybe next time?
And YES, there will surely be a next time..HOPEFULLY sooner than later!
The Big Apple is AMAZING!
It has an energy that can’t be explained…But wait, I am getting ahead of myself.

Here’s a play-by-play recap of my New York Adventure!
My hubby Brett and some work colleagues had a business convention in New Jersey.W hen I heard word of this, I jumped on the chance of going with him.
Now, with that being said, I am NOT a good traveler! I hate flying; I swear I have more anxiety than the average person while traveling. When I was young, I thought I wanted to travel the world, and I did do my fair share without a second thought, but NOW that I am a wife and mother and I have sooo much more to worry about, I have turned into the CRAZY woman sitting by you in the plane that can’t seem to sit still. And gasps at any bit of turbulence.
When I finally get off the plane, I then have a new fear of being “SAFE,” thus getting lost freaks me out. While on vacation, Brett has to remind me to have fun because I’m too worried about earthquakes, tornados and tsunamis … Aughhhh!!
I know…CRAZY RIGHT? But, when I finally get to the destination, I tend to not be such a bundle of nerves!

We started our journey in Atlantic City , NJ where the convention was being held. There wasn’t a whole lot to see there, the town seemed run down, but it was fun to see the nostalgic boardwalk and read about Miss America history.
( The boardwalk back in day, Wish it still like this..I admit, I was a bit disappointed! 🙁 )
After a few days in NJ We (my friend Kym and I) then set off to NYC and left the hubbies behind to manage business.
Kym and I decided to take the bus to NYC
Let’s just say the bus ride was interesting?!? We were stuck in the back with a broken seat and an unpleasant smell coming out of the bathroom * YUCK * Let’s just say we were happy when the ride finally came to an end.

We got off the bus, climbed a flight of stairs and
Voila…beheld Times Square and all its glory!!!
Wow, Unbelievable!
While in New York , we used the subway, a taxi, The bus, a ferry, and of course did a TON of walking! Still wondering why I came back 5 pounds heavier??? Could it have been the CRUMBS Cupcakes??
* YUMMY * at 550 calories a pop!!
But ohhhh.. they were sooooo worth it!
Here are just a few of the things we saw while in
the Big Apple..
the Big Apple..
Broadway Play, Backstage tour of Wicked, The Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Shopping on Canal Street , Times Square, The financial district, Regis and Kelly, NYC LDS Temple , AMAZING local food, the biggest Forever 21 I’ve ever seen, the Naked Cowboy, and the list goes on!!!
(Thanks again to our sweet tour guide Karyn (Kym’s sister!)
we wouldn’t have been able to fit in everything we did in such a short time without you!)
Lunch at Vinyl..Amazing food and fun company!
After our big city adventure, we hopped on a train and headed to Philly where we met up with the boys and headed home.
Luck would have it, I forget my camera on this trip if you can believe it!
