We have been BUSY around the Parson Home!
This weekend was full of projects. Brett finished the tiling on his momβs kitchen backsplash, and then came home to find a
semi-short Honey Do list from me π
Here is Brett measuring and marking the walls for the texture guy to come. Poor boy spent all that time measuring and marking and then in the middle of the night
(of course it had to be in the middle of the night)
I woke up with the brilliant idea of trimming out the entire hallway, from floor to ceiling all in white.
Itβs going to look
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G when Brett gets it done!
Oh, and here he is again, doing what Brett does BEST…hehe!
So, I think I have pretty much decided I am going through a RED crises. Kind of like a midlife crises but WORSE! I can’t seem to win the inner battle going on inside my head over whether to keep the red kitchen or to change it to another color.
Keep the red or lose the red…decisions, decisions…Here are some attempts in the process.
My conclusion is this…. I DONβT have one yet;)
So in the meantime, I will focus on the back part of the house
Here is a picture of the office wall. Hummm? Maybe next time I’ll move my necklace and screwdriver before taking the picture! hehe
I haven’t found the PERFECT paint color just yet, But my new blue lamp and new end table I snagged at T.J Maxx for $59.99 has REALLY helped me with the direction I want to go with the space!
(p.s. for those of you that are worried, the blue lamp will not be going on the blue table (wink)
Exciting things are happening around here π
I am totally stealing your idea of trimming out the hallway…my entryway and hall need serious TLC and this would be perfect! My husband will hate you for it though;o) His honey-do list is never ending. I am so grateful to have a hubby who is a handy man though!! Thanks for the inspiration!
I have been changing my colours in our new house also. Gone are the brown/taupes and here are the blue greys and green greys. I think a colour change is a refresher for your home and for yourself!
I can't wait to see your finished room!
Husbands are the best aren't they.
Susan
I can't wait to see all of the finished projects.
your hubby's adorable! i'm so excited to see your completed room miss talented lady. and ps: AWESOME you got to go to EVO! i wish i knew you were in SLC…i was there visiting in-laws but didn't go to EVO, dang!! XO
Deciding on a paint color can be so hard! One tip I might suggest is to put white behind your samples. It is amazing what a surrounding color can make a sample look like, it can change it completely. You might actually have the color you like but you can't tell because it is reading differently because of the red and yellow. Can't wait to see what you end up with. Good luck!
Hard to lose the red if you really love it. BUT ~ isn't that the beauty of paint? If you don't like the new color, it's just paint. π And elbow grease. π
I cannot wait to see the finished product & those black doors! I'm dying to see those doors. I have decided after much thought that I'm going to paint the back of our exterior doors black. I'm still thinking about the rest of the interior doors. π Everything you do is amazing, Heidi! And your hubby is adorable!
Jessica,
I am DYING for my black doors!!!! My painter said they should be done in another week! ahhhh! You should for SURE paint the inside exterior. My friend just did hers a few days ago and she LOVES it!!!!
Your walls look like mine last week; with at least 8 samples of "grey." The winner was SW "pussywillow," an awesome color that looks so good with my white board & batton trim. My vote, lose the red. Love your blog.
Hi,
I have a red family room/kitchen and have been going through the same indecision as to whether I want to paint it in a more neutral color. I haven't yet come up with a decision either!
I'll be eager to hear what color you end up for the study, especially if its a gray tone…gray is a hard color for me to find (the "just right" gray).
