A few weeks ago, I posted on Facebook about sending all my interior doors away to get painted, not just any boring color…but I am painting 6 doors in my house BLACK!!!
Yes, you heard right… BLACK, can you believe it!?!?
I know, I know you probably think I am CRAZY, but you will just have to wait and see.
This up coming project is going to be AMAZING!

I am SUPER excited and have so much anticipation to get this project DONE!!!
I have been day dreaming about a hall makeover for sometime now!
I just wish my doors would get done and FAST!
Brett and I have BIG plans for the hall! Here are a few pictures of the BEFORE hallway.
I made sure and took before pictures this time!!!
( I tend to forget that part, I just get sooo excited to get started!)
Yep…SUPER boring!
Here is my Front Door!
After living with an interior black door for the past 5 years,
I have no hesitation to paint all the other doors in my house!
We are also adding heavy trim all around the entry way! This place is going to feel like new again! I LOVE the smell of fresh paint
Our plan is to have black doors all the way down the hall and put up trim work 3/4 up the wall. Pretty much the hall with be black and white with little paint showing!!
Oh…Did I mention I am re-painting my main color. I want to add a little more drama,
So here are the colors I am considering!

Butter -Restoration hardware
Sherwin Williams- Solaria 6688
What color do you like BEST??
To save money by not having to buy 1/4 inch boards, the texturing guy is coming next week to re-texture the walls to become smooth again instead of orange peel texture.
After that, the walls will be the PERFECT canvas for Brett to do his handy work and create a master piece! YAY…I am sooo excited!!!
Here are some pictures that we are using for inspiration!

Love the Trim!!!
magic wand and Poof!!! The projects would be instantly done!
But since I don’t have one, I am sure we will complete this hall around the end
August first of September.
Sooooo… be patient with me and I will be sure and keep you posted along the way!!!

Funny, I was just going to ask what the color on your walls is now. I have green and want to lighten up and love your current color (which would be new to me.) Also, I painted my front door black, interior and exterior, last summer and LOVE it. I thought about painting my other interior doors black too, but wondered about it. You have inspired me and I'm buying more black paint to paint more doors. Thanks for the inspiration!

Rekehl…Hey so my walls right now are Millet. It is 2 shades lighter then tobacco Road. If you are starting new I would do a shade dark then Millet and do Plantation Beige!! all colors are from Columbia Paint!!

tobacco road is a great neutral!!!

My living room is currently Tobacco Road and I could not love it more! It is substantial enough to hold it's own against black but neutral enough to allow the black to pop. Can't wait to see the finished product. Love your style!

My gathering room & kitchen are both painted Tobacco Road & I love the way it changes color depending on the time of day. Sometimes in the evening I think, "too gold," and recently have considered changing to "Bleeker Beige" by Ben Moore, which is a very soothing and warm nuetral and looks beautiful with black & white. Love your inspirations, as well as your style.

I love Salaria, the tobacco road looks a little green on my computer…but it could be that you want a little hint of green. Can't wait to see your finished project. Love, love, love the black doors. Joni at Cote de Texas did a blog about black interior doors a few months back, what a great look.

Tobacco Road is a great color, however, it seems to me that many people in southeastern Idaho use the same few colors in their homes. I would choose a color that reflects you, but is different than every business and home in your town. There are some great new colors on the new Columbia deck. Good luck. You have a beautiful home, and I am sure you will find the perfect paint.

Heidi,
I'm so excited to see it. Did you ever post the finished inside of your children's play room. I remember you painting it but I never saw after pictures.

I adore that picture of hallway, staircase and entrance door with contrasting paint of black and white. Ideal color for
Pantry Doors and kitchen walls.
