You could do personalized bowls for really cheap, too. Just buy bowls at the dollar store or even the thrift store . Then buy paint that is made for ceramics (or whatever your bowls are made of) and write the child's name on it. I made a grilling platter for Father's Day last year this way. The paint I got could be eaten off of after it was cooked in the oven, but regular paint would do for the outside of the bowl, since food wouldn't actually touch it.
