Spring is here and I don’t know about you, but it always gives me the bug to take on a room-refresh in my home. Since moving into our new home last summer, I have been putting things on the back burner when it comes to decorating and fully finishing rooms. I have to admit my laundry room got the worst of my neglect. I knew I wanted a splash of color to make the space warm, while keeping it bright and airy, and a pleasant space to work in.
Years ago, when I was introduced to the Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines® paint, I knew this collection was a winner! Joanna curated this collection to make it easy to find the right color for you with 150 timeless colors to choose from! As a designer myself, I admire the beauty of each color and how the shades and undertones really are the best of the best! This is why I personally recommend Magnolia Home paint to all my clients.
After pouring through all the amazing colors, I decided to go with the warm and neutral hue of Gatherings from the Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines® paint line. It added a subtle touch of warmth in the room, while helping my white trim work pop at the same time.

Here are before pictures of my Laundry Room. Although I love my cabinet color, the pale paint color of my walls just wasn’t doing much for the space.

jumped into the project by first prepping the room with blue painter’s tape, brown butcher paper to cover the white, decorative trim on the wall.
Painting can sometimes be a messy job; prep is key! Once the room was ready, we started priming the walls with KILZ® Mold and Mildew Primer. It went on great and did an amazing job of smoothing and covering up the existing paint. We only needed one coat of primer! I highly recommend it!

Next came the exciting part! We finally got to see the gorgeous color of Gatherings from Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines® go onto the wall!
While painting, I noticed how easily it went on the walls. The application was seamless!
TIP: Magnolia paint is a stain-blocking paint and primer in one! I was thrilled to discover that this paint also has a mildew resistant finish and remarkable durability, which is exactly what I need in a bustling laundry room!

After all the hard work of painting, the room became the perfect canvas to start adding decor!

I really love how the paint color turned out! It was the perfect tone to highlight the grey-blue color of my cabinets. I hung some simple laundry signs on the wall and added laundry essentials on the shelves. Honestly, this paint is perfect with any color you pair with it. Truly the perfect neutral, universal color. It really is a fantastic paint and the quality is superior.

What projects do you have on the back burner? Now is the perfect time to get them started! Even the littlest projects make a big difference!
